Positive Impact Produces Successful Virtual Fundraising Event Featuring All-Star Coaching Lineup

JERSEY CITY, NJ:     During a time when normal fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled, Positive Impact pivoted and adapted on behalf of their client, Team Walker, by producing a part-virtual, part in-person event.  With Team Walker’s annual “Evening of Dreams” gala cancelled for 2020, undoubtedly the Foundation’s largest fundraising event, Positive Impact needed to identify another way to supplement some of that lost revenue. Enter the idea of “Conversation with Coaches”.

“Conversations with Coaches” was held at Liberty National Golf Club and featured a part in-person and part-virtual panel discussion moderated by Emmy-Award winning ESPN broadcaster Bob Ley. The panel consisted of current Seton Hall University coach Kevin Willard, current St. Peter’s University coach Shaheen Holloway, former NBA and college coach P.J. Carlesimo, former Seton Hall University coach and current basketball analyst Bill Raftery, former St. Anthony’s coach and New Jersey basketball legend Bob Hurley and veteran sportscaster Dave Popkin emceeing the festivities.   Topics ranged from discussing the changing sports landscape as the World adapts to the COVID-19 pandemic to sharing personal experiences throughout the years.

“With some of our coaches participating virtually and some in-person, our biggest concern was having to rely on technology, which sometimes can be unpredictable, but was critical in uniting our attendees on-site with those that were remote” said Positive Impact’s Vice President of Strategic Integration and Operations, Allyson Rowe.

“Overall, the evening could not have gone any smoother with guests, participants and most importantly, Team Walker, all agreeing that the event exceeded their expectations” commented Rowe.

In addition, Positive Impact engaged with several donors and corporations to raise significant funds on behalf of Team Walker during this critical time, allowing them to continue offering educational and recreational programs to the youth of Jersey City, NJ.
